News		  Sunday School / Bible Study. The Sunday School and Adult Bible Classes have started the book of Genesis. If you are new to God's word or are looking for a friendly church to join, this is a great chapter (the first) of the Bible to start on and an easy place to ease into a new classroom. Please join us this Sunday at 9:30 for coffee, doughnuts, and an hour of learning. Each classroom also offers the opportunity to meet like-minded Christians in a social atmosphere of learning.


News		  Remembering Members. Our Bended Knee team is putting together baskets for our shut-ins. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please talk to one of the Bended Knee team members or the pastor.

On the eve of the celebration for the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, you are invited to attend Crestview Missionary Baptist Church's candlelight service at 6:00pm. Crestview is blessed as a community-sized church with a rich thirty-plus year history of members from Arlington and the neighboring cities who would be honored to have you spend Christmas eve with us at our traditional service.

09/12/10		  Homebuilders Retreat: October 15-16 in Arkansas. Humorist Dennis Swanburg will be guest speaker. Brochures available in the foyer. Even if your marriage is trouble-free, this is a good way to ensure it stays that way. Plus it's a great get-away weekend for togetherness. Update: Registration is now completed.


8/29/10		  Messages Updated. Pastor Chappell's Sunday sermons are being recorded again and added to the website Mesages page. If you're out for a week or are a guest, please find inspiration as Pastor Chappell brings us messages from the Lord through His word, the Bible.


8/22/10		  5th Sunday Potluck. Next Sunday, August 28th is the 5th Sunday of the Month. Join us for a potluck lunch after the morning service. There are no afternoon or evening services on 5th Sundays, so this meal is our time to fellowship and recharge for the up-coming week. Don't miss it!


8/01/10		  Southwest Baptist Camp: Was July 26-30 in Ruidoso, New Mexico! Campers have returned, refreshed and full of joy. Another blessed outting for Crestview kids and adults. Please consider joining us next summer. If you don't have kids, there are plenty at camp to keep your day blessed.


7/12/10		  Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School was July 12-16 from 6:30pm to 8:45pm. All children welcomed. Parents encouraged to participate too. The theme for this summer was: Soul Survivers on Danger Island and the 2010 mission offering was sent to the Amazon Project.


06/13/10		 Church Directory Now Online: If you've ever had one of those moments when you really needed your church directory and either you couldn't find it or you weren't at home, then this news is for you! The complete church directory can now be read online. All of the church web pages have a MEMBERS link which will display the directory. For the privacy of church members, a password is required.


5/30/10		  Crestview Summer Picnic. Wednesday June 9th, the congregation, family, and friends will meet at Stovall Park on Sublett Road. Blessing is at 7:00pm.

Photos will be taken in the lobby before and after morning worship service, or you may supply your own to be scanned.


5/25/10		  Golf Outting. We will meet this Saturday at Timberview Golf Course for a "best ball scramble". Let Rick know if plan to attend.

11/29/09		 Adult Winter Bible Study: If you like current events and end time prophesy you'll enjoy the new quarter which begins next Sunday in Ezekiel. Let's build our church through our Sunday School. Classes for all ages begin Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

11/29/09		 Looking Forward To Summer: Brother Chappell is already receiving wedding requests for June so we need to lock down the dates for Vacation Bible School 2010. The first step is to establish the director, teachers, and helpers. To be considered, please let Brother Chappell know which position you are considering.

NEWS		 30th Year Homecoming (October 11th): Crestview Missionary Baptist Church invites you to be with us as we look back upon the past 30 years of fellowship and doing the Lords work. Also remembered will be Dr. Harmon Hunt who was the founding missionary and intrumental in the leadership of our church. (Bro. Hunt went to be with the Lord this summer.) Members who have moved away, if you cannot make it back for the Homecoming, please send a letter with photos so that we will know that you are well and share your news. Former Crestview MBC pastor Larry Fondren will bring the morning message. Dinner will be served afterward. Members: sign up to bring food. See Denise Nichols.


10/02/09		 Make a Joyful Noise. For the upcoming Crestview Homecoming service on October 11, we decided to have a "Homecoming Choir." We have had so many good singers come through the church that we decided it would be impossible to have everyone sing separately. So, Bro. Chappell came up with the idea of having a Homecoming Choir. The idea was inspired by the Gaither Homecoming Shows where a bunch of soloist and groups come together and sing. I would like to invite anyone who has sung at the church previously to join our Homecoming group, particularly people who have regularly sung solos at Crestview. I am planning on the group singing two songs that remind me of the late '70's contemporary music. The two songs are "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" and "Then Came The Morning." We will meet in the church sanctuary during the Sunday School time on October 11 to practice the songs. Also, these songs have solos, so I will need to find some folks willing to do that. I would like to provide the music to those who would like to familiarize themselves with these songs. If you would like to participate and/or get access to the songs, let me know.

9/21/09		 Whirley Ball. Updated: October 3rd is our fall activity. Bro. Masters has organized a Whirleyball outting! Those who have signed up in the foyer should meet at the church Saturday October 3rd. The carpool leaves at 12:30. If you're driving, the address is 3115 W. Parker, Plano, TX 75023. (972) 398-7900. There is also an area for fellowship and to watch for anybody who would like to attend but not participate in the sporting game. 9/14/09		 Progressive Supper. Members, don't forget that Saturday September 26th is the Progressive Supper. The meal doesn't have to be fancy, it's more about fellowship than food. Thank you to the volunteers for the appitizers, salads, main courses, and desserts!


9/14/09		 New Website Features Coming. The audio player for online Messages has been updated and the archive dating back to 2007 is starting to be loaded. Soon if you are sick, travelling, or unable to attend you'll be able to hear the message starting the following week. (Still not a good reason to play hooky on Sunday mornings.) News has been moved off the front page to it's own section.


9/7/09		 Financial Peace University. The life-changing financial advice video series by Dave Ramsey has started. No more sign-ups are available. Please pray for those students who have taken on the responsibility to better their own life through good stewardship.
